PFX Tour

This last weekend we took the girls to play in the Professional Fastpitch X-Treme tournament. Out of 23 teams, we ended up 3rd. We lost the last game by one run and could have very easily been playing for the championship if not for a few errors. McKenna batted great and did pretty well at second base also. Dr. Dot Richardson presented our team the trophy, and took pictures with the team. Click on her name to see the amazing things she has done.

Mckenna's softball team kicked off the season by scrimmaging three teams today. The girls surprised us with three great games. We scored the maximum 5 runs in most of the innings while holding the other teams to a total of about 3 runs. McKenna played second base the first game, pitcher the second game and short stop the third game. Sally, Johnny, and Marah Jane also came to watch.

KB and Corbin's Birthday

Wow, we had a very eventful weekend! Quite a few were at the house all weekend for the dualing birthday parties. Saturday started off with David and Rene doing their famous crab/shrimp boil. Then the pool was a hit for the birthdays and McKenna's softball party on Sunday after practice. Thanks to everyone that helped and came to join us in our celebration!

Pool finally ready to swim in

After 4 weeks of the pool being so cloudy we couldn't see below 1 foot, and many chemicals and visits to the pool store, we finally figured out what was wrong. The idiot who set it up, switched the hoses and was sending sand and debris back into the pool. We were finally able to enjoy it today. I wish I had gotten a picture of the girls actually in it.

The House

This summer has also been devoted to improving the house. Instead of a trip to Disney World, the girls opted for a swimming pool. Well ya know you cant just add a pool, you then have to make it inviting and comfortable. So Stephen and I, yes, Stephen and I!!!, (with a little help from Allison Little from the Help Desk of a major home improvement store I dont know if I can say the name of) built the 200+ square foot deck off the pool. I really have to say, I never thought we could do it, without at least 1 of us ending up in the morgue! LOL! I really learned alot and used quite a bit of math that I cant wait to share with my math students.

Our summer

Our summer has been the busiest ever. I thought I got into teaching partly because I would have my summers pretty easy. But as the girls get older we seem to find more stuff to do. Let's see - the summer started of with us going to Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series. We got the best surprise when our Ags beat Florida to make it too the Championship game. Kudos to Coach Jo and the girls, especially Megan, for representing Texas A&M with class!
